Star Wars Romance: Eyes Like Stars
Our whole family is huge Star Wars fans and were really excited about this mix of sci-fi and romance. THe book is set about a year and a half before The Force Awakens, the story follows 18-year-old Ardent Quay, whose life on her family's galaxy-touring ship gets turned upside down when she saves a stowaway named Sian who she finds in the ship's pantry. Adventure ensues :) I really liked how the author, Ashley Poston, keeps the story sweet and great for teens.
In addition to the fun romance, I felt like the author did a great job capturing the millieu of modern Star Wars. From Coruscant to deep space, the feel seems authentic but also totally approachable for people not super familiar with all the Star Wars lore. I appreciate Ardent being a relatable heroine whose deep love for her family and her home I thought was one of her best traits. Her fun chemistry with Sian makes their interactions really engaging and entertaining.
Whether your preteen or teen is a die-hard Star Wars fan or simply someone who loves a great sci-fi romance trope, this novel works great either way!
